“Gold Survey 2004”

GFMS has issued Gold Survey 2004, Gold jewellery fabrication demand in 2003 fell by 5.5% to 2,533 tonnes. Importantly, the outlook for 2004 is somewhat more positive because more markets are adjusting to a US$400 plus gold price and a recovery in jewellery fabrication
is considered more probable than not.
US gold jewelry sales Increase in 2003
The sixteenth annual US gold jewelry sales summary has reported gold jewelry sales in the US for 2003 increased by 2.5%, topping US$16.3 billion. The summary was conducted by NOP World, (formerly Roper ASW) and sponsored by the World Gold Council (WGC).
