UPDATE IDMA discusses
Moti Ganz, president of
the International Diamond Manufacturers Association (IDMA), and
the presidents of the 14 national diamond manufacturing assciations
who represent the IDMA membership, met recently in Antwerp, Belgium,
to assess the impact of the global financial crisis. IDMA is the
representative body of the world's diamond manufacturers. The panel
discussed the measures needed to sustain the stable and viable long-term

Recently, the
Thai Gem and Jewelry Traders Association (TGJTA), led by Mr. Somchai
Phornchindarak, CEO of the Bangkok Gems & Jewelry Fair (BGJF),
along with assciation official attended Jewel Fair Korea 2009 over
30 April - 3 May at COEX, Seoul. The event welcomed more than 30,000
visitors worldwide who came to see fine jewelry, diamonds, pearls,
gemstones, watches, watches and clocks, fashion jewelry, tools and

Costume Institute
The Metropolitan
Museum of Art's renowned Costume Institute Benefit - the annual
black-tue dinner to benefit the Musuem's costume Institute-took
place recently celebrating the exhibition "The model as Muse:Embodying
Fashion"which will be on view until August 9,2009.The exhibition
and the benefit for The Costume Institute are made possible by top
US fashion designer Marc Jacobs. Additional support is provided

FAIR REVIEW BASEL WORLD 2009 After eight successful
days, BASELWORLD closed its doors, once again reaffirming its position
as the leading international watch and jewellery trade show. On
a site covering approximately 160,000sq. m . 1,952 exhibitors from

and visitors alike spoke enthusiastically about their experience
